School Board Trustee Caroline McDonald speaks with fellow Trustee John Laimbeer and Superintendent Dr. Linda Reksten and High School Principal Rex Weltz. Other board members who participated included Caryl Cox, John Trilio and Cindy Lanier.

Nearly the entire school board representing School District #23 did a “Walk Through” of the high school on Thursday morning, December 5. One of the board’s goals this year is to visit every school in the district once a month. They met together with the administrative team in the conference room, and then they visited many classrooms, observing and interacting with students and teachers. According to Principal Rex Weltz, “They were very complimentary about what they saw.” He said that in particular they were “impressed by the instructional practices” they observed, and with “the technology that was being used–especially the diversity of ‘real world’ uses that were in evidence.”
