Last year, Shakespeare in the Schools performed The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

For last year’s play, Shakespeare in the Schools performed The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Shakespeare in the Schools returned to Polson High School on November 7th to perform Shakespeare’s satire on love, A Midsummer’s Night Dream.

Shakespeare in the Schools tours high schools and middle schools around the state of Montana. They perform different plays each year and this fall marks their twentieth season. The cast of these plays consists of eight actors and the current show being performed around the state is directed by Kevin Asselin.

It’s no secret that many kids aren’t very fond of reading the works of Shakespeare, but these plays allow students to experience Shakespeare in a vibrant and intriguing way.  After the most recent show at Polson High School, the halls were buzzing with gossip and laughter about the performance. Brandy Pope says, “ I talked to the actors afterwards to tell them how awesome the play was. Everyone was laughing and paying attention, even the kids who slack in English class.”
